La Legion Russe

The Russian Legion (La Legion Russe, Русский Легион) is a historical re-enacement unit within the Great War Association (GWA). We portray Russian Imperial soldiers that were sent to France to fight in World War I between 1916 and 1918.

The commander of Legion Russe is Eugene Poplavsky. Re-founded in 1997, this unit strives for an accurate impression of the Russian soldier on the Western Front. Wearing Russian uniforms, the soldiers of Legion Russe were issued French weapons and gear to help ease the supply difficulties.
